2fifty Texas BBQ Wins RAMMYs Restaurateur of the Year
This recognition honors the leadership, fire, and kitchen direction behind 2fifty.
A restaurant does not become what 2fifty is by accident.
It takes direction. Standards. Taste. Long days. Early fires. Hard calls. And a clear point of view about what barbecue should be.
That is why this RAMMYs recognition means so much: Fernando González has been named Restaurateur of the Year.

Fernando is not 2fifty by himself. 2fifty is a full team, a community, and a restaurant shaped by many hands. But Fernando has been one of the clearest faces of the restaurant, helping guide the kitchen, the fire, and the food that guests know us for.
At 2fifty, that direction starts with the pit.

The smokers run on wood. The meat takes time. Brisket has to be watched, ribs have to be read, and every tray has to carry the same standard from Riverdale Park to DC.
We believe leadership in barbecue has to show up in the food.
For Fernando, that has meant helping shape a kitchen where Central Texas technique and Salvadoran roots can live together naturally. Not as a slogan, but as a daily practice: in the smoke, the sides, the specials, the hospitality, and the way the restaurant keeps growing without losing its identity.
This award is a proud moment for Fernando, but it is also a proud moment for 2fifty.
For the team that keeps the fire going.
For the guests who keep showing up.
For the DMV community that has made this restaurant part of its table.
Congratulations to Fernando, and thank you to everyone who helped carry 2fifty to this moment.
All wood, all good.
