Cherry Blossom Cakesicles in Washington DC
A small seasonal dessert inspired by the bloom. Handcrafted cakesicles made in-house for cherry blossom season in DC.
Every spring in Washington, DC the city starts looking up again.
The trees around the Tidal Basin turn pale pink, petals collect on sidewalks, and people head outside for the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
We believe seasonal moments deserve small treats that capture what the city feels like right then.
This year we’re celebrating the bloom with something sweet: Cherry Blossom Cakesicles.

Cherry blossom season brings a certain rhythm to DC. Visitors spend the day walking the monuments, locals meet friends in the parks, and by the afternoon everyone is looking for something good to eat.
Our pastry chef Alma from Sugar Rush by Alma created these cakesicles as a small snapshot of the season.

Each one is handcrafted in-house, dipped in pink chocolate, and decorated with delicate blossom details that echo the trees blooming across the city.
We believe craft matters in every corner of the kitchen, not just the pits. Brisket might spend fourteen hours in the smoker, but desserts take patience too.

Cherry blossom season doesn’t last long in Washington.
So while the trees are blooming, we’re making these cakesicles in small batches. If you’re out blossom watching this week, stop by 2Fifty Texas BBQ and grab one before the petals and the cakesicles disappear.
