Each month, we pick a wine that makes sense with how we cook and how we eat. Something with character. Something that holds up to smoke, fat, and time at the pit.

This month’s pick is Poderi Cellario E’Orange 2023, an Italian orange wine from Piedmont, poured from a generous 1-liter bottle and made to be shared.

It’s bright, lightly textured, and food-driven. Exactly how we like it.

About the wine

E’Orange is made with white grapes fermented on their skins, giving the wine its amber color and subtle grip. That skin contact adds structure, which is why this wine works so well with barbecue instead of getting lost next to it.

You’ll find aromas of citrus peel, stone fruit, and herbs, with fresh acidity and a clean, dry finish. It’s expressive without being heavy. Easy to drink, but not simple.

Tasting notes

  • Orange peel, mandarin, and ripe peach
  • Herbal notes and light spice
  • Fresh acidity with a gentle tannic edge
  • Dry, crisp finish that keeps you coming back
